It appears that Ohio State will have no say in the National Championship this year after being defeated by Penn State 13-6.  Of course the naysayers at the Columbus Dispatch are running a poll asking if the season is a washout and 62% have responded yes.  Can you believe that?  This team has a chance to go 10-2 and still be in the hunt for a BCS game--Maybe not the championship game.

A Dispatch sports writer wrote about Penn State that, '... the Big Ten is theirs to lose. But the guess is that this bunch is no more national-championship material than the previous two OSU squads.'  Hurray for sportsmanship!!  Denigrate the team that just defeated you in your back yard.  You don't see SEC or Big 12 teams slamming each other right after a football game.

Ohio State football has a consistent theme--it's always great.  They'll be back next year with a much more mature quarterback (or maybe this year--a very slim possibility at best, but LSU had 2 losses last year).
