Cochecton, New York

Took a ride up the river today to just get away from the house for a little while.  The apple butter was cooking down and we decided to give it a couple of more hours and get out of the house in the meantime.

Took a drive to Callicoon and stopped at Cochecton on the way back.  Had never seen the old railway station there, although I own an original pen-and-ink drawing of it.  Stopped and took a couple of photos.  Below is a photo taken by the Erie Railroad in 1908 and the photo I took in December 2008.

Of course, we had to cross the world's most interesting bridge in each direction--something we do every day.  Mr. Roebling really knew what he was doing.
