McSorleys

The gas chandelier as it has been for the past 90 years.

The chandelier today.

McSorley's is a neat place. If you've never been there, visit. It's worth it. Look at this article to see the history of the wish bones. It may be a myth, but, then again, a myth worth believing.

Lincoln drank a beer there, as did Franklin Roosevelt, and God knows who else. They were open through Prohibition and didn't let women in until the 1970's when they were forced to do so. I'm not saying that's something to be proud of (it's not), just saying it's an old Irish stag bar that stayed that way as long as it could.

Stay informed!
