June 18 - Playwright Denis Johnston is born (1901).

June 19 - James, duke of Ormond, agrees to surrender Dublin to the English Parliament (1647).

June 20 - James Clarence Mangan, poet, dies (1849).

June 21 - The Declaratory Act, which had given Britain the right to legislate for Ireland and had denied the appellate jurisdiction of the Irish House of Lords is repealed (1782).

June 22 - Archbishop Cullen becomes the first Irishman ever to be elevated to cardinal (1866). Thomas Dale Joyce is born in Lancaster Ohio (1950)

June 23 - Fianna Fail's Sean Lemass becomes Taoiseach (1959).

June 24 - Forrest Reid, novelist, is born (1875). Anne Loretta Joyce Strawser is born in Lancaster Ohio (1949).
