Today's news (to me anyway)

I'm a big fan of Bill Belichick.  The Patriots looked really good against the Broncos (considering they had the 2nd worst defense in the NFL this season).  This article is worth a read.

If things keep going as they are in Arizona, they won't need schools or universities in a couple of years.  They keep banning things from the curriculum.  Now it's Shakespeare.  Personally, I think he's been around long enough to make the cut just about everywhere.  I've been wrong before.  See the Wall Street Journal article here.

For those of you who can't afford PhotoShop, there's a program out there called GIMP that will do magic on your digital photos.  It's a very powerful tool and it's open-source and, best of all, it's free.  Here are some tips on making it easier for you to use.

It's a soup time of year.  This delicious one is from the Amateur Gourmet and recipe can be found here.

These are from a recipe called Green veggie pancakes.  Not sure if I could handle the color too early in the morning.  For those of you with an iron stomach, the recipe is here.

This is an opinion from Sunday's NY Times about the Tea Party.  I love the comments section.  It seems that some people comment without reading the article.

Another article devoted to the irrelevance of Newt Gingrich.  Ya gotta laugh, look around ya!!  Video here.  (My apologies.  As usual with Fox, you have to watch a commercial.)

If it's not already possible, you will soon be able to gamble in every state in some way, shape or form.  None pay attention to the fact that income generated is minimal to the state.  It's just viewed as some sort of quick fix by state legislators who need to be a little better schooled on the subject.  See the story here

Posthumous memoir from Christopher Hitchens to be printed later this year.  Also in the Atlantic, Salman Rushdie wrote a eulogy for Hitchens.  Nice article if you can find it.  This evening, I couldn't.

And in case you didn't see, Mitt Romney pays less taxes than those that are left in the middle class (or any other class, but his).  I'd love to pay taxes like a rich guy.  Article here

Hope your news is better......
