All In One Face Wash, Exfoliator, Toothpaste, Shampoo, Antacid, Deodorizer
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
1 pound baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
Directions:
1. For face wash, use 1 teaspoon baking soda and a few drops water to make a paste. Smooth the mixture over face, and rinse to gently and thoroughly clean face. For an exfoliator, make a thicker paste with a few teaspoons baking soda and water; gently and briefly rub onto face in a circular motion, then rinse. This can also be used on any other tough areas of the body that need smoothing.
2. For toothpaste, dip wet toothbrush bristles into baking soda (salt may be added, if you wish) and brush teeth with this every 2-3 days. For shampoo, make about 1/2 cup thick paste with baking soda and water. Gently and briefly massage onto scalp and through hair. Rinse.
3. For an antacid, mix 1/2 to 1 teaspoon baking soda with 1 cup luke warm/tepid water, and drink every 3 hours until you feel better; do not ingest more than 3 1/2 teaspoons baking soda in one day. For a deodorizer, sprinkle in shoes, trash cans, cat litter and anywhere that tends to smell.
4. For a foot soak, effectively soften, clean, deodorize and soothe achy, battered feet by adding 1/4 cup baking soda to a basin of warm water and soak feet for about 15 to 30 minutes. For a bath soak, add 1/2 cup baking soda to bath water to thoroughly soften, soothe, and neutralize odors on skin and entire body.
5. For deodorant, mix with a starch (try rice flour or corn starch) 1/2 and 1/2 to create an absorbent, odor destroying powder, and apply to armpits. For an itch/kin irritation remedy, pat (do not rub) baking soda on affected area and feel the miraculous soothing power of baking soda.
If you are already aware of the diversity of baking soda uses, you won't need to read this. Baking soda has been used for well over a century (before the industrial takeover of the agriculture and medical industries) for everything from medicinal and personal care applications to household and culinary purposes. It is nontoxic, alkalizing, softening, deodorizing, exfoliating, bacteria killing and a lot more. It is found in the baking isle at your local supermarket and shouldn't cost much more than a dollar. Arm & Hammer baking soda is owned by Proctor & Gamble (who refuse to stop testing on animals!) so, please purchase a different brand like Bob's Red Mill or Rumford (I buy mine in bulk from the health food store).
