Roundtown Diamond Men
ROUNDTOWN DIAMOND MEN — This photo shows the Circleville Athletes, an amateur baseball club that played here for four years from 1904-1908. Pictured (from left) are, front row, Fred (Beaner) Toole, pitcher, and Kirk Harrison, catcher; middle row, George Denny, shortstop and manager, George Switzer, center field, and George (Soup) Youngman, first base; back row, Monty Beavers, third base, George Lane, pitcher and center field, Clyde Hanna, second base and captain, and Ed Wallace, right field. According to W.W. Higgins, local historian, Wallace was the former owner of the downtown bakery now known as Lindsey’s and served as Pickaway County’s representative to the state legislature.

See baseball banner in photo below.
It was hard to get around the 1800s when we had dirt streets. Looking down West Mail from Court.
