Sarah got a little mixed up on her history. Actually, most people know of that episode in history through a poem by Longfellow, which is not historically correct. This was noted in a story by Jill Lepore in the New Yorker. The poem by Longfellow was also parodied in the New Yorker. There's a history test on the Washington Post website. See how you stack up!!
